Visitors of the Irish week, Eamonn Keenan and poet Pat Boran, to appear at the university on Thursday (Oct 3) and Friday (Oct 4)
On Thursday 3rd October at 14.00 sharp in HU106 English Philology is delighted to welcome back the popular and entertaining observer of Belfast life, Eamonn Keenan, this year giving a talk on Transforming Northern Ireland.
Friday 4th October sees the appearance of award-winning Irish poet Pat Boran in HU106 from 11.00-13.00. Pat was born in Portlaoise in 1963 and has long since lived in Dublin where he runs the Dedalus Press, one of Ireland's best known and longest running literary imprints, specializing in the best in contemporary Irish poetry and poetry from around the world in translation. This session will also see brief papers presented by Professor Anthony Johnson (Åbo Academy), Dr William Gray (Dalarna University, Sweden) and Dr John Braidwood (Oulu University).
