Martti Ahtisaari wins Nobel Peace PrizeFinland's ex-president, peace negotiator Martti Ahtisaari has won this year's Nobel Peace Prize. Mr Ahtisaari has been an influential and successful mediator in various international conflicts including Kosovo, Aceh and the independence negotiations of Namibia. Martti Ahtisaari was nominated as Alumnus of the Year in the University of Oulu in 1999, and he holds an honorary degree in the University. In April 2008 Mr Ahtisaari opened the Martti Ahtisaari Institute of Global Business and Economics in the University of Oulu.
