Teaching

Collections and facilities of the garden are an integral part of teaching and are used in several courses of the Department of Biology.

Garden provides material for courses in plant ecology and physiology. Garden takes care of provenances and updates plant names.

Teaching related to plant science at the Department of Biology has emphasis in theoretical plant ecology and plant interactions, ecophysiology, northern issues and plant molecular biology.

Collections provide a fascinating opportunity to see living plants from wide range of climatic zones and to see examples of plant structural and ecophysiological adaptations. Collections are also important and useful in studying plant systematics.
