X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS) System Installed to the Center of Microscopy and Nanotechnology

Center of Microscopy and Nanotechnology has purchased Thermo Fisher Scientific ESCALAB 250Xi x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) system. XPS can be used in surface chemical analysis of various materials. The system is also equipped with ultra violet photoelectron spectroscopy (UPS), reflection electron energy loss spectroscopy (REELS), and ion scattering spectroscopy (ISS) measurement options and argon ion sputtering gun which enables also chemical depth profile measurements. XPS system is open for all the university departments and laboratories. The purchase was conducted in collaboration with the Department of Chemistry, Materials Engineering Laboratory, Microelectronics and Materials Physics Laboratories, VTT, KETEK, Nokia Siemens Networks Oy, Ruukki Metals Oyj, and Optitune Oy. For any questions related to the system, please contact application engineer Santtu Heinilehto 0294 488051.
