English Philology, Faculty of Humanities
In my doctoral thesis I study how the introduction of mobile technologies affects the mediated actions in lower secondary English classroom. The data was gathered during my own English lessons during the school year 2012-2013. The study employs nexus analysis that draws upon mediated discourse analysis. The study will provide information on foreign language teaching and learning practices in a mobile-assisted classroom environment. It will also have relevance for constructing the teacher and learner roles in future foreign language learning and hopes to contribute to the design of educational technology, as well as of future learning spaces. After my PhD studies I will continue my work as a teacher but also wish to contribute to the research in the field and strengthen the dialogue between the university and the "field".
