University of Oulu Alumni Ambassadors Programme started in 2012. First nineteen Alumni Ambassadors were nominated in 2012.

The Alumni Ambassador Programme is a volunteering opportunity for graduating students and recent graduates. Alumni ambassadors candidates are selected once a year, and they undergo a training programme.

An Alumni Ambassador is a University of Oulu recent graduate, who collaborates with the Alumni Relations and Admissions Office on key initiatives and activities. In particular, Alumni Ambassadors are expected to support the University by volunteering their time to

• support Admissions efforts with prospective students online;
• represent the University of Oulu at study fairs;
• meet with faculty and staff that may be visiting in his/her geographical region/country;
• provide information on educational and student mobility tendencies;
• provide testimonials, quotes and interviews;
• provide feedback on what is meaningful to young alumni (social events, career planning, etc.).
