The University of Oulu significantly improved its position in the QS World University Rankings. The University of Oulu is now at 262, up from 304 of last year. The ranking list includes 700 universities out of the total 2500 that were assessed.
The QS Ranking assesses the international academic reputation of the universities, their image in the eyes of employers, number of researcher citations, researcher/teacher vs. student proportion, and the relative number of international students.
Lauri Lajunen, rector of the University of Oulu, says that the ranking, which uses several different criteria, confirms that the University of Oulu truly is the international science university it aspires to be. “What is best, this result will help us recruit high-level international researchers, teachers and students”, says Lajunen.
