University of Oulu provides sport and wellness services to students and staff. You can choose activities from ballet to skydiving and from cross-country skiing to rugby. You gain access to the sports and academic sport services by purchasing the Sports Pass. The Pass functions as an entrance ticket to all the disciplines, training sessions as well as all the other services. All degree-seeking students in the University of Oulu are eligible to apply for a student exchange period, meaning that they can study a part of their degree in a foreign university abroad. There are several programmes and hundreds of universities to choose from. The length of a student exchange period is between 1 and 12 months. To go on an exchange, students need to have their first year of academic studies completed.

Efforts to improve accessibility support the removal of various obstacles to studying. In addition to the accessibility of facilities, attention is focused on removing what are called invisible obstacles. Such obstacles are, for instance, various special challenges in learning and barriers related to mental health issues.
