The University of Oulu offers study opportunities with a solid academic foundation ranging from 5-6 year degree programmes and master’s programmes to doctoral training. There are also several possibilities such as open university studies, executive training and continuing education for developing and maintaining skills and competencies.
In addition to a variety of student exchange programmes, international master’s degree programmes in English are offered in six fields of study, making the university an international study environment.
Graduates of the field of study in health sciences become experts in demanding tasks on both national and international level. The intended learning outcomes in the degree programme is to acquire a capacity for independent work, critical, science-based decision making, and the discovery of new knowledge. Studies are supported by high-quality teaching of relevant content and instruction in different kinds of environment that facilitate lifelong learning. The training prepares graduates to participate in scientific graduate studies, and the diverse and cross-disciplinary Faculty of Medicine offers an excellent starting point for research. After graduation, a very high percentage of students find employment as extensively trained experts in a variety of positions in the field of health care.
