Electronics Laboratory is responsible for education and research in the following areas at the Department of electrical engineering:

• circuit theory and computer-aided circuit design
• design of analogue, radio frequency, digital and optoelectronic circuits and systems, including the design of integrated circuits
• applied electronics with a special emphasis electronic systems design and product development
• digital circuits and systems modelling and design

The Laboratory's high level of research has been recognised internationally and nationally. For example, the laboratory is a member of the Centre of Excellence in Laser Scanning Research and the home to an Academy Professor.
