Culture coaches – who are they?

CULTURE COACHES are talented international Masters degree students at the University of Oulu. They have been selected on the basis of their work and academic experience as well as relevant skills. They all have work experience from their home countries and hold at least a Bachelor degree. They have been trained to work as “cultural ambassadors” in Finnish businesses and organisations. They come from a variety of different fields for example international business, management, ICT, environmental engineering and global education.  

What kind of coaching sessions are on offer?

• Culture coaching can take the form of small group/team coaching, workshop activities or individual/group discussions.
• A culture coach designs his or her coaching sessions according to the needs of the customer. In general terms, the coaching includes an introduction to the culture of the coach’s home country, followed by an interactive section.
• Each culture coach works in their own way; more information about the background of a culture coach can be found in the coach’s profile web pages under construction).
• The working language of culture coaches is English.
