University of Oulu again among the top world universities

The University of Oulu has maintained its position among the world’s top universities. The Academic Ranking of World Universities 2010 ranking has placed the university among the positions 301 – 400 together with the University of Turku. Nationally Oulu and Turku are ranked second after the University of Helsinki which ranked 72nd.

The rector Lauri Lajunen is pleased with the ranking of his university, “especially when you consider how much the changes in the University Law have put strain in our resources and time”.

According to rector Lajunen, the new research execution programme gives University of Oulu good possibilities to grow as an internationally recognized science university and thus improve in international ranking lists.
