Academic Calendar

The Finnish academic year consists of two semesters. The first, autumn term, starts in early September and ends in mid-December. The second, spring term, begins in early January and ends in May. For more specific dates for courses please contact the departmental coordinators. In the Institute of Clinical Medicine some of the teaching begins already in August. The Institute's exchange coordinator will inform those whose studies begin in August of the official date. If you are uncertain when your studies begin, please contact the departmental coordinator!

 

Academic Year 2013-2014

Autumn Term 2013

  • Application Deadline: May 31, 2013 (except clinical Medicine and Architecture April 30, 2013)
  • Official Arrival Date: September 2
  • Orientation: September 3-4
  • Independence Day: December 6 (national holiday)
  • Semester Ends approximately December 15, check the specific date with the departmental coordinator

Spring Term 2014

  • Application deadline (all fields): October 15, 2013
  • Official Arrival Dates: January 4-6
  • Orientation: January 7-9
  • N.B. January 6 is Epiphany, national holiday
  • Semester ends in late May
