Councelling and PSP advising

If you need help with your studies, contact first your tutor teacher, study adviser or Chief Academic Officer of your field of study. The names and contact information for each field of study can be found at Studies at University of Oulu page: select: 5-6 year Degree Programmes > Field of Study > Degree Programme > Basic information > Study Advising

Students receive personal study plan (PSP) advising  from their personal tutor teachers or other PSP advisors appointed by the faculty. Students can also contact their student advisors for help. See also Guidelines on PSP Advising at the University of Oulu.

During your studies, you may encounter situations when you need special guidance and councelling, e.g. to plan your studies. If you need special councelling, you can contact coordinators at Councelling and Career Services.

Student and Career Councelling

Student and career councelling can help you with questions concerning

  • career guidance and councelling, but we do not offer placement services
  • internships in Finland or abroad and internship grants
  • study plans or scheduling your studies

The councelling sessions are confidential and last 45-60 minutes.

Appointments

  • Make an appointment request by filling in an online form. Explain briefly what your situation is and what kind of councelling you need.
  • Walk in on Wednesdays between 9-11 am (no appointment needed) in rooms KE1011 (1st floor) and KE 234 (2nd floor) in Student Center
