In terms of academic productivity in Finland, the University of Oulu has increased its share by no less than 15 % in recent years. Most of this increase occurred in 2010—2011.
Despite the improvement, the majority of departments are facing a situation in which their funding is going to diminish next year.

Eight out of ten foreign employees at the University of Oulu think that the university is a good place to work and would be more than happy to recommend it to others. This is one of the findings revealed by a survey conducted among international staff in August.

At work
Summer’s the time when researchers from all over the world assemble to present their findings and exchange ideas. Held in Oulu in mid-August, the Nordic Water Conference focused on the new winds blowing in the field of hydrology. This well-received conference was attended by over 200 researchers from 40 different countries.
