The Max IV laboratory is a SR source facility and a Swedish national research infrastructure. The latest addition to the facility, the next-generation SR source MAX IV laboratory, will be inaugurated in June 2016. Upon completion, MAX IV laboratory will be the most brilliant SR source in the world. The unsurpassed brightness and coherence of the MAX IV laboratory source will facilitate imaging and microscopy methods with unprecedented spatial resolution and simultaneous sensitivity to chemical, electronic, magnetic and other properties. MAX IV laboratory staff posseses expertise on the many different methods and instrumentation needed to develop and support the advanced SR-based experiments and are experienced in providing supervision to users, including ESRs who make use of the laboratory. Currently about 1000 researchers from all parts of the world are using MAX IV laboratory facilities annually.
