Student account

A new chosen student will get instructions about the student account activation via mail to home. An activation process can be done online with Finnish online banking account. You need your student number in the activation process and the service requires you to have a Finnish social security number. During the online activation procedure the system will show your student account, please write it down. Set your password following tips for a strong password. Online activation of University's student account ended 13 September 2013. If you did not activate your account online, then come to see our Helpdesk in Linnanmaa Campus to get your student account and password.

Other new students will get their accounts day after the enrolment.

If you have studied before in University of Oulu (also in Avoin yliopisto) you will get your old student account activated. You can inquire your activation day after the enrolment for present student.

After activation you can activate Office 365 service using your student account and password. Email service is one part of Office 365 cloud services. Read more about Office 365 for Education.

Your account will be closed temporarily, if you enroll for absent; account will not be closed if the reason for absent is studying abroad, maternity leave or conscription.
