Applications are invited for several doctoral student short positions (maximum of six (6) months) for Infotech Oulu Doctoral Program. The positions are for finishing the doctoral thesis. The application deadline is May 24, 2013 at 16:00.

The applicant should have acquired at least almost all the required credit points and publications. Strong priority is given to such applicants who will graduate no later than spring 2014. The doctoral thesis should be done in a the research groups of Infotech Oulu that have been selected for the time period 2010–2013 (full or associate members). The applicant could have had a research student position financed by the Ministry of Education and Culture before, but for less than four (4) years. The monthly salary is EUR 1940, but the research groups can pay additional salary. The time period in the position can be adjusted, but it must be during the year 2013.

Annual study reports used by students in Infotech Doctoral Program positions http://www.oulu.fi/infotech/doctoral_program/study_reports are used as application material. Also research plan (containing the items listed in http://www.infotech.oulu.fi/GraduateSchool/Students/research_plan.txt ) is needed. Please mark which results have already been achieved. Note, that there is study report form also for the supervisor that must be included in the application.  It is important for the supervisor to convince the Doctoral Program Board that the dissertation will be ready soon, if that is claimed to be the case. (There is also supervisor's credibility at stake.) The application including the appendices should be sent by email in pdf-format to tapio.repo(at)ee.oulu.fi. No signatures are needed.
