How to apply

1. Contact your own department or International Relations of your home university and find out whether your department or university has an exchange agreement with the University of Oulu. Refer to our list of Partner Universities.

2. If your department or university has an exchange agreement with the University of Oulu ask your home university/coordinator for the University of Oulu Exchange Student Application Form or print the application from from the link below.

3. If your department or university does not have an exchange agreement with the University of Oulu you can still apply as a free mover student using the University of Oulu Exchange Student Application Form. Remember to make sure that your home university acknowledges your studies at the University of Oulu i.e. that you will get your credits transferred.

 

Before sending the application to Oulu make sure you check carefully which programmes and courses you can take and that there is room in the programme. For more information on studies at the different departments, please contact the departmental coordinator who will give you detailed information on study matters. A list of departmental coordinators can be viewed here.

 

Application deadlines
For the academic year 2009-2010 and/or Fall semester 2009 the deadline is May 31, 2009.
For the Spring semester 2010 the deadline is October 15, 2009.
For Architecture and Medical students the deadline is April 30.

 

Instructions for filling in the application form:
1. The application must be filled in electronically or in BLOCK letters. Unclear handwriting may prolong the processing.
2. Do not staple any of the pages together.
3. Do not staple your photo on the application.
4. Please send your application in two (2) copies.
5. Students applying to the Faculty of Educational Sciences and Teacher Eduacation are required to submit a language certificate with their application

Please note that these forms are only for exchange students, i.e. for short term study periods. Degree student applicants can find more information here.
