Students

We have over 400 exchange students at the University of Oulu every year, and more than half of them apply for a Kummi Family. Having a local Kummi Family is a great chance to explore the Finnish culture.

However, it also means that the student needs to be willing to devote some time to the family, and to share his or her own culture and the way of life with the Kummi Family. These families are an immense help to the exchange experience and that is why the students also need to be motivated. Therefore, if you want to have a Kummi Family, please be ready to dedicate some time for the family and the programme.
