11th Science Day of the Faculty of Medicine

Tiistai, helmikuu 18, 2014

Tuesday February 18, 2014

Dear Colleagues

It is my great pleasure to invite You all to participate in the 11th Science Day of the Faculty of Medicine on February 18th 2013. The Science Day will include, as has been customary, plenary lectures, oral abstract presentations, posters, panel discussion and granting of awards such as the best thesis of the year and the best presentations of the Science Day.

We have been privileged to receive acceptance as plenary lecturer from distinguished researchers. Director General, Professor Pekka Puska from the National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) is one of the most prominent guests.

The main theme of the Science Day concerns a very important question: “In addition to the university which institutes and to which extent do they need researchers and doctors?” This will be the headline of the panel organized in the afternoon. Into the panel we wish to get representatives from the university hospital, city of Oulu, the medical faculty, governmental institute and from a company involved in health technology.

Preliminary program (updated Oct 7)

Especially I want to invite young scientists to introduce their results as oral or poster presentations and would not like to forget encouraging experienced researches to participate as well. The Science Day will be a comprehensive presentation of the diversity of research ongoing in the faculty.
