TOURISM AND REGIONAL PLANNING – MANAGEMENT AND GEOGRAPHY, Catholic University Eichstaett‐Ingolstadt (Germany)

GEOGRAPHY – SPECIALISATION IN TOURISM GEOGRAPHIES, University of Oulu (Finland)

Faculty of Business Administration and the Faculty of Mathematics and Geography, Catholic University Eichstaett‐Ingolstadt, Germany (hereinafter referred to as CU) and the Faculty of Science, University of Oulu, Finland (hereinafter referred to as UO) have agreed on deepening their successful cooperation by establishing a double degree master program for the successful completion of which the degrees of “Master of Science” (M.Sc., in Tourism and Regional Planning ‐ Management and Geography). The preparation and realization of a double degree master study program is based on the following Master level programmes, which are deemed equivalent:

“Tourism and Regional Planning - Management and Geography”

offered by the Faculty of Business Administration / Faculty of Mathematics and Geography, Catholic University Eichstaett‐Ingolstadt

&

“Geography - Specialization on Tourism Geographies“

offered by the Faculty of Science, University of Oulu.

 

Schedule of the studies in DD-program

First year, 1st semester (autumn semester):

  • History and philosophy of Geography, 5 ECTS (Oulu)
  • Quantitative research methods in Geography, 5 ECTS (Oulu)
  • Minor subjects (electives), 20 ECTS (Oulu)

First year, 2nd semester (spring semester):

  • Human/Economic Geography, 5 ECTS (Eichstätt)
  • Location development, 5 ECTS (Eichstätt)
  • Theory and strategy in destination management and -marketing, 5 ECTS (Eichstätt)
  • Advanced instruments of spatial tourism analysis and planning, 5 ECTS (Eichstätt)
  • Global and/or regional tourism destinations (international field trip), 10 ECTS (Eichstätt)

Second year, 1st semester (autumn semester):

  • Final Exam, 5 ECTS (Oulu)
  • Seminar of Master thesis, 5 ECTS (Oulu)
  • Minor subjects (electives), 20 ECTS (Oulu)

Second year, 2nd semester (spring semester):

  • Master Thesis, 30 ECTS (Oulu and Eichstätt)

In total: 120 ECTS, MSc degree
