Inspiring conversations at the Nordic Wild Berry Seminar :: 8.12.2008

The Nordic Wild Berry Seminar 2008 was held in November in Oulu, Finland. The event was organized by the bilberry project participants, and it gathered a group of about 50 industry representatives and researchers from the Nordic countries, as well as from Scotland, Canada and Japan.

The event reached its aim of encouraging interaction both between the research and industry sectors and between wild berry professionals in different Nordic countries, with lively discussions on some specific issues regarding the future of the wild berry field, such as tighter collaboration between the countries and more extensive wild berry processing within the area instead of exporting the raw-materials.

All in all the initiative was well received, and the need for organized Nordic interaction in the wild berry field was recognized. The organizers would like to give sincere thanks to all the participants and speakers, as well as the sponsors and other partners, for the inspiring two days!
