Effective, user-centered and scalable support service models in long distance health care systems

Length of project:
1/2014 to 12/2015
Source of the funding:
Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation (TEKES)
Committed funding:
EUR 396 800
Description of project:
This research and development project will be related to health care systems in sparsely populated areas with long distances. This causes challenges on logistical support operations as material supply, pharmacy, laboratory, instruments and equipment, food supply, laundry, etc. Finnish public health care system will be facing major changes, when developing support functions can not be based on existing structures or plans. Instead of developing existing systems, effectiveness is sought by producing services that are based on actual value for the main functions in health care. In this project we concentrate on value creation of support operation and scalable service model for areas with long distances without organizational barriers.
