Description of project:
The main goal of project is to improve the supply logistics of bio-energy when the distances are long, like in Northern Finland. In the project will be evaluated and developed the different business models concerning the transport of woodchip material from forest to terminal. In focus are the quality of the raw material, delivery reliability and costs.
Research consortium or cooperation partners:
Kemi -Tornio University of Applied Sciences, energy companies, some municipalities and SME companies, OBS Team: Professor Jari Juga, Project Manager Aaro Tiilikainen, Project Researcher Eero Klemetti.
(Anticipated) results of the project:
Project arranges joint international seminars and benchmarking excursions. The first seminar for Swedish actors in June 2012 and the second one for Russian partners in the spring 2013, Simulation Model of Bioenergy Supply Chain.
