WATER RESOURCES AND ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING LABORATORY

Hydraulic laboratory and test facilities

The laboratory has facilities to carry out hydraulic experiments with internal water circulation. Test facilities are available for large scale tests e.g. related to stream restoration or on-site water treatment. The laboratory has a 10 m2 “climate-soil-ground water” room where experiments can be simulated with variable water table level and ambient temperature. The laboratory also store field equipment for surface, ground and waste water sampling.

  • internal water circulation (both water and wastewater)
    • an open channel (9.2 m x 0.45 m x 0.6 m) with adjustable slope connected to the water circulation of the laboratory
  • a crane (max load 5 000 kg)
  • compressed air network
  • an open channel (5 m x 0.3m x 0.5m) with adjustable slope and internal water circulation
  • water and wastewater treatment pilot test
    • facility to test full-scale wastewater plant using municipal wastewater
  • automatic water samplers
  • field instruments for analysis of water and wastewater
  • field instruments for hydrology and river hydraulics
