Better methods are needed for restoring streams and lakes affected by nutrient and sediment loading from forestry and other land uses. The current research is carried out on I) developing methods to treat runoff waters from forestry and peatland drainage, II) studies of sediment erosion and transport, III) studies on nutrient emission, IV) studies on stream restoration with different structures, and V) studies on peak flow retention methods to reduce negative impact of drainage.
