This item is based on chemical approach towards phenomena occurring in aqueous systems, principally in water treatment processes. A major focus is on profound understanding of coagulation/flocculation mechanisms like surface charge reduction, inter particle bridging, patch adsorption, and sweeping achieved by different water treatment chemicals. In addition, novel selective adsorption materials are in scope. To this end we use various state-of-the-art analytical techniques and computational methods. An essential aim is to improve material efficiency of water and waste water treatment on scientific basis.
