PRACTICAL INFORMATION
For Students
What about the living costs?
The living costs per post-graduate student in full equipped rooms for 2 to 5 students will be approximately 120 to 225 Euros for one person for 5 days (from Monday to Friday; http://www.hotellituristi.fi/eng/). You will also need a ticket for general transport (2,80 Euros/ticket) and some general living allowance (100-150 Euros). Please, inform us in due course about your needs for housing to Liisa Kangasharju (liisa.kangasharju(at)oulu.fi). She will make the reservations. She can also provide you further information on the accommodation available in the City of Oulu (more expensive hotel rooms, around 80 to 120 Euros/day/person).
Scholarships by COST Action 543
(max. 30 scholarships that will be equally shared between the COST Action 543 member countries)
Scholarships are available for travels and living expenses (approximately 600 Euros/student for post-graduate students from COST Action 543 member countries; maximum number of scholarships is 30). Applications should be sent to Prof. Riitta Keiski via e-mail (riitta.keiski(at)oulu.fi) before April 30th, 2008. Instructions for the applicants:
- Application letter, which should contain the following information: Name, degree gained earlier, country, university, thematic area of your PhD thesis, supervisor of the PhD thesis
- Explain your motivation to participate the Summer School (Why are you applying? How this training school will help you in your PhD studies? What are your expectations?)
- Support letter from your supervisor
Those who are not going to apply the grant, please, inform us about your willingness to participate the Summer School no later than on May 15th, 2008. The lunches and refreshments will be provided by the organizer.
REGISTRATION FORM
For lecturers
Liisa Kangasharju will also take care of the reservation of the hotel rooms for the lecturers. Please, indicate your timetable (arrival date and time, departure date and time) to her in due course. If there is any need for you to change your lecturing time, please, feel free to inform Prof. Riitta Keiski (riitta.keiski(at)oulu.fi) about that matter. The programme can be edited according to your wishes. Further instructions are given to the lecturers in early May. Travels and accommodation will be compensated by the COST Action 543 money allocation (approximately 800 Euros/lecturer).
