Studies of the dayside ionosphere and magnetosphere are performed on the basis of the European Incoherent Scatter Radar (EISCAT) and Super Dual Auroral Radar Network (SuperDARN) measurements combined with optical observations of auroras, as well as with satellite observations in the region of dayside auroral oval, where the solar wind / magnetosphere interaction is manifested. Two main problems are investigated: (1) The field-aligned currents, magnetospheric plasma domains and generation mechanisms of dayside auroras; (2) Structure and dynamics of the dayside magnetosphere and signatures of the magnetospheric domains in the radar (EISCAT and SuperDARN) dat
