Grants

Every student who has been selected as an exchange student in one of the exchange programmes of the University of Oulu receives a travel grant.

Erasmus grants in 2017-2018:

Erasmus + Grants are categorised according to the length of the exchange and the living expenses in the host country. For a full month (eg. 15.9. - 14.10.) a student receives a payment of either x euros or x euros/month, depending on the category. For the exceeding days a student receives either x or x euros/day, depending on the category. Students with underaged children will get an extra grant of 200 euros per month.

Category 1

300 euros per month and for the exceeding days 10 euros per day in the following countries:
Austria, Denmark, France, Ireland, Italy, Lichtenstein, Norway, Sweden, United Kingdom. Switzerland is not participating in Erasmus, but students going there on exchange will receive an equal grant from the Swiss goverment. This will be paid by the receiving institution.

Category 2

240 euros per month and for the exceeding days 8 euros per day in the following countries:
Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Estonia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland Portugal, Romania , Slovakia , Slovenia, Spain, Turkey, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia

Travel grants for destinations outside Europe (partner universities) in 2017-2018:

1100 eur (USA, Canada)
1300 eur (Asia, Australia, Latin America)

Travel grants for FIRST programme (Finnish-Russian Student Exchange) in 2017-2018 (to be confirmed):

500 eur (Petrozavodsk)
700 eur (Murmansk)
1100 eur (Arkhangelsk)
1100 eur (St. Petersburg)

Travel grants for other exchange programmes vary according to programme. Please note that freemover exchanges (including Asia Exchange and other exchanges with non-partner universities) do not get grants from the University of Oulu.
