Kummi Family Programme
The Kummi Family Programme, introduced at the University of Oulu in 1995, connects an international student with a local family. The idea is to match the student with the family to spend their free time together. It is up to the family and the student to decide how often they meet and how they spend their time together. Students live independently on their own, not at the Kummi family’s home.
Participating in the programme will provide you an opportunity to establish new friendships and have memorable experiences with your student or family. The student and the family will also have a chance to practice their language skills.
The programme starts in the autumn semester and runs September-May each academic year. The families and the students commit to the programme for a year at the time. Should you be interested to apply, please find more information and the application forms for kummi families and students through the links below.
We have been contacting our existing kummi families to ask of their interest to participate during the academic year 2018-2019 (September-May). If you have had a kummiteltava in the previous years and have not received our messages, please be in touch with Niina Kallioinen (firstname.lastname@example.org or 050 3299493) to update your contact details. Thank you!
