The degree is an architect's professional degree notified by the EU commission
The Oulu School of Architecture educates architects to the profession, providing its graduates with high level qualifications for demanding and versatile occupations within designing the built environment, as well as town and land-use planning. Mastering practical and complex design skills and using modern design tools, are main objectives of the studies in architecture.
The contents and objectives of the degree programme in architecture are based on the requirements of the European Union Professional Qualifications Directive (2005/36/EC) set for the education of architects (article 46). The current Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes of the Oulu School of Architecture have been notified by the EU commission in June 2013.
Admission information for the full five years degree program in architecture is available on the DIA web pages in Finnish and Swedish.
The Oulu School of Architecture welcomes international applicants, holding a three or four year Bachelor’s degree in architecture to apply for the 2 year, full-time Master’s Programme in Architecture, starting in September of each year. The program is instructed entirely in English and fully integrated with the domestic master level studies of the school.
