Welcome to the 27th BCO Day!

Why does obesity predispose to diabetes, cancer and metabolic syndrome? What are the most recent findings about brown adipose tissue? Six distinguished guest speakers will share with us the recent advances in the adipose tissue research field. The day is closed by a panel discussion entitled "Fat - Friend or Foe?" Information regarding the Biocenter Oulu Day Bulletin Mini-poster

The tradition has been to print a Biocenter Day Bulletin, in which research groups have the opportunity to present their latest work as Mini-posters. We kindly request all BCO researchers to submit their Mini-poster for the BCO Day Bulletin by sending it to Ping Gao, ping.gao(at) Deadline for the submission is  March 3, 2017. Following in the footsteps previous years, the third “Satellite Symposium” is held on the afternoon before the BCO Day 2017, on Wednesday March 22. This event is intended to bring all the Health and Biosciences doctoral students together, and to give them a unique opportunity to socialize and discuss their research among themselves. Credits will be granted for those who wish to have either an oral (1 ECTS) or a poster (0.5 ECTS) presentation.
