Plant Biology and Biotechnology

The research interest of Plant Biology groups are especially focused on plant developmental biology, specific plant-microbe interactions and biotechnology. The basis of the research is function of genes and their regulation. The research is conducted at the transcriptome level to metabolome at the species, tissue, cell and molecular level. Biotechnological methods enables multidisciplinary research and practical applications.

Research topics:

- Berry development and berry bioactive compounds

- Plant-endophyte interactions

- Biotechnology and cryopreservation of plant material

- Developmental biology and epigenetics of forest trees
