Data Analysis and Inference Group conducts high-quality research in the field of computational data analysis and develops methods for diverse real-world modeling problems. Our strengths are a strong, versatile background in engineering, mathematics, statistics, and broad knowledge within application areas.
The mission of the Robotics Group is to study and develop methods, theories, sensors and platforms for creating mobile robots that are adaptive and capable of performing purposeful tasks in cooperation with humans. The group has participated many robotic EU framework projects and has been granted funded research from Tekes and Academy of Finland for more than ten millions euros. Robotics research activity at BISG includes collaboration with processing industry.
The purpose of the Oulu University Secure Programming Group (OUSPG), active since 1996, is to study, evaluate and develop methods of implementing and testing application and system software in order to prevent, discover and eliminate implementation level security vulnerabilities in a pro-active fashion. Our focus is on implementation level security issues and software security testing.
The objective of Bio-IT research area is to better integrate ICT and biotechnology/biomedicine domains. Target outcomes include filling the gaps across both domains and generating novel approaches to achieve better and concrete synergies and integration of these research areas.
