The turn of the year is approaching. This is a great time to think about the achievements and activities of the current year, but especially to reflect on what’s going to happen in the forthcoming year.
I have a very good feeling of the current year. Our dedicated and hard work to develop Oulu Business School towards an internationally recognized business school is bearing fruit in many respects. We have launched a working life mentoring programme for all our Master’s level study programmes, we have a wider international mix of faculty and students than ever before, we are developing our practices related to curriculum design and corporate relations, to name but a few. This work will continue next year!
An important reference point for our development activities is AACSB International. Oulu Business School is a member of AACSB International—The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. As we operate on an international arena and deal with increasingly global issues, we keep a close eye on the development of business schools worldwide.
So what else next year? We are introducing this blog, so, I welcome you all to participate in the discussion! At best the blog can serve as a more informal forum that complements the text book or newspaper and journal articles.
The idea of the blog is to tell what’s going on in Oulu Business School and what kinds of plans we have for the future. Hopefully the blog serves its purpose. Actually, I’m pretty sure of this, since we have interesting activities and stories that just have to be told.
It’s almost Christmas time. This means that it’s time to slow down, relax and enjoy life with family and friends.
I wish you all the best Christmas time and even better New Year!
Petri Sahlström, Dean, Oulu Business School
