Centre for Health and Technology
Centre for Health and Technology (CHT) at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Oulu, develops multidisciplinary, multi-stakeholder RDI network cooperation between research institutes, companies, and health service providers. As part of the OuluHealth ecosystem, CHT is building Digital Health Knowledge Partnerships and collaboration models in data-intensive research and innovation with its 10 years of experience in the field of health and wellbeing.
The aim is to promote the potential of health data exploitation and health data management skills, and to create capabilities for secondary use of data, thus enabling data-driven innovation and creating new value for health data as part of preventive and personalized health care. CHT highlights trends, best practices, and gaps in policies, and promotes know-how in the data exploiting and enabling technologies like AI, data analytics, and machine learning while creating new data-led service solutions. CHT contributes actively to building competencies to fully exploit next-generation data sets that will be used also in predictive healthcare services in the future.
We are doing that by:
Developing RDI cooperation models between regional, national, and international knowledge partnerships and digital health innovation networks
Leading OuluHealth ecosystem’s spearhead program "Data enabled solutions in preventive and supportive healthcare” and its cooperation (2021-2027) within Oulu Innovation Alliance operations
Leading and developing the national knowledge partnership network through the Well-Being and Health AiRo programme and leading the National Innovation Ecosystem Collaboration Network (HYTKI) for well-being and health data between five regions in Finland
Creating synergies with the University of Oulu’s profiling research programs and researchers in Digital Health and Solutions and Responsible Innovations for the Future Sustainable Society (6G-FSS) in themes of impact and business solutions of digital health, and citizen-centered data-driven preventive solutions
Creating synergies with European innovation partnerships, smart specialization strategies, and activities related to health data, as well as human-centered data management (Mydata).
