Key project funding by the Finnish Academy is targeted especially to the early-career researchers whose projects have been highly rated in previously organised peer reviews. The funding aims at promoting extensive utilisation of the results of that research.
From the University of Oulu, four applicants were chosen to be funded, one of which is Assoc. Prof. Guoying Zhao from CMVS. The project is to investigate the methodology to estimate and analyze accurate cardiac beat to beat variability from remote videos for health service, such as cardiac disorder screening.
This research is carried out during the period 01.10.2016-30.09.2018 in University of Oulu. Dr. Zhao and her team will collaborate with Prof. Tapio Seppänen from University of Oulu, Prof. Heikki Huikuri from Cardiological research group of Oulu University Hospital and Prof. Fusui Ji, Prof. Hongyi Li from the Department of Cardiology of Beijing Hospital.
