My research and teaching activities deal mainly with different aspects of teaching and learning foreign and second languages, and I am especially interested in the development of the learners’ multilingual competence. In my doctoral thesis I examine the use of multilingual resources in pair and group interaction in a German-Finnish Tandem course. The main focus of my research is to examine when and how the participants use different languages in their interaction as learning, communication and social negotiation strategies.
