Electronics is a new addition to international Master's programmes that strongly leans on long-standing national degree programme in Electronics and Communications Engineering.
Degree in Electronics combines a theoretical and a practical approach in development of electronics components, measurement technologies and applications for various areas in ICT technology.
Circuits and Systems (CAS), Microelectronics (MIC) and Opto-Electronics and Measurement Techniques (OPEM) research units focus on providing Electronics students with a wide range of skills and deep knowledge in electronics design, electronics materials and components, and photonics and measurement technology.

Core skills and competence
The two-year programme has three specialisation options:
- Electronics Design
- Electronics Materials and Components
- Photonics and Measurement Technology.
Students can select one of the following study options: Electronics Design, Electronics Materials and Components, or Photonics and Measurement Technology. In addition to the student’s preference, the field of their Bachelor's or equivalent studies and the possible interview are taken into account when the study option is confirmed.
There are no entrance-exams or pre-determined quotas of study places for Electronics Design, Electronics Materials and Components and Photonics and Measurement Technology study options. It is important to notice that mandatory courses of one specialization option can be taken as elective courses in other option, if a student wishes to broaden their expertise into the area of other study option.
Studies is Electronics Design focus on analog and digital circuits and systems design, with the main emphasis on design and verification of integrated circuits.
Electronic Materials and Components
Studies in Electronic Materials and Components focus on materials, processes and structures that are used to develop electronics devices and components. The devices and components are passive and active components, sensors, actuators, RF-devices, and circuit packages.
Photonics and Measurement Technology
Studies in Photonics and Measurement Technology focus on design of measurement systems and developing printed electronics. Spearheads of the measurement application fields are biomedical measurements, photonics, and printed electronics.
