Library services and opening hours during summer 2023
Summer opening hours (and closures in July)
See library hours 1.6.-31.8.2023. You can also easily check the libraries’ daily opening hours in Oula-Finna or in the Tuudo mobile application.
Libraries’ closure days in July:
- Pegasus Library is closed 17.–31.7.
- Medical Library and Health and Social Care Library are closed 1.–31.7.
- Oulainen Learning Centre is closed 23.6.–31.7.
Self-service use is possible with a separate electronic access key in the university's 24/7 premises and Health and Social Care library throughout the summer.
You can place on-shelf requests for material available in the library even when the library is closed. The requests will be processed only when the library reopens, however.
Interlibrary loan services are closed 17.–31.7.
No due dates in July
Loans will not be renewed automatically in summer (except for the staff of University of Oulu and Oamk), but due dates will not fall on dates in July; at the end of June, due dates will jump to the beginning of August (provided there are no reservations for the borrowed material concerned). Please remember to renew or return your loans before they are due! You can check your due dates and renew your loans via Oula-Finna or Tuudo mobile application anywhere and anytime.
External book return boxes
- The Pegasus Library and Medical Library book return slots are in use and you can return items to them throughout the summer.
- The Health and Social Care Library book return box can be accessed during the opening hours of the Paasi building in June and in August. The campus is closed in July, so only customers who have obtained a separate electronic access key to the self-service library can return loans in July.
- The Oulainen Learning Centre book return box is not in use during the library closure 23.6.–31.7.

Research support, theses and publishing services
- Publishing support of Oulu University theses (openpublishing@oulu.fi) is closed 17.–31.7.
- Publishing support and handling of the Oamk theses is closed 3.–26.7. and 31.7.–4.8.
- The editorial office of Oamk Journal is closed 29.6.–30.7. Oamk staff can send publication proposals to julkaisut@oamk.fi throughout the summer, and their processing will continue in August.
- Submission of publication information services (OuluCRIS support) is closed 3.–30.7.
- Self-archiving and open science services are closed 17.–30.7.
- Bibliometric services are closed 3.–30.7.
- Support for the publishing of doctoral theses (Acta series) is closed 3.–30.7.
