Protein and Structural Biology

Protein and Structural Biology research unit (PSB RU) is home to ten PIs and their international research groups. The scientific profile of PSB RU falls into the University focus area of Lifelong Health and partially overlaps with the University profiling area of fibrosis. The RU covers all aspects of protein science, with an emphasis on structural and biophysical studies.

Research

The research falls into three broad overlapping themes: large protein complexes and networks, molecular mechanisms of biology and disease, and synthetic biology. This includes work on infectious diseases, cancer, coronary artery disease, molecular basis of neurological diseases, contraception and protein cell factories.
