Jonne Hytönen is a social scientist with a focus on spatial planning.

His research concerns institutional conditions of longsighted and democratic planning, in the Nordic societal/legal context. Legitimacy, critical sustainability and communicativeness are key themes in Jonne's research. His previous research has focused, for instance, on planning resources in the municipalities, cross-municipal planning cooperation, central-local government relationship in planning, and housing preferences in the outskirts of Finnish city-regions.

Jonne takes part in teaching in Regional Development and Regional Policy in the Geography Research Unit.
