regional development, economic geography
I am a senior researcher at University of Oulu, Kerttu Saalasti Institute, MicroENTRE. My research focuses on micro-enterprises competitiveness and business potential, regional resilience and regional development. I am holding PhD in Human Geography and Regional Planning, my doctoral theses was about Networking, collaboration and communication in SMEs’ product innovation in Northern Finland.
I am interested in how small entreprises operate in spartsely populated areas, what is their contribution to their region but also how their regions could support them better. Those companies are essential to regional development and regional resilience.
