In Autumn 2019, the cultural anthropology programme will put on the semester-long class Human/nature: Interdisciplinary anthropologies of environment and ecology. The class is part of the new programme offering Special Topics in Cultural Anthropology. In it, students will discuss themes and debates central to ideas of nature and society, paying particular attention to interdisciplinary understandings of human worlds, bringing in perspectives from archeology, heritage studies, political ecology and human geography. Topics to be covered include indigeneity, climate change, kinship, infrastructure and energy, and various methodological considerations of carrying out such research.
