Mirko Maksimainen

I work as a researcher in the ADPr-SBDD group where my research work focuses on ADP-ribosylation, a post-translational signaling mechanism. I study enzymes involved to the signaling mechanism through structural biology and assay development. Our aim is also to develop small molecule inhibitors against the enzymes, which are often misregulated in especially cancer. Such inhibitors could be used as chemical probes to validate drug targets and as lead compounds for new therapeutics.
