CSC's IDA data storage (https://www.fairdata.fi/en/ida/) is a safe and easy service to store data and related metadata. The service is free for the university research groups. However, note that the service does not suit for sensitive data.
To get IDA space, one applies from CSC:
- for an account (if that does not already exists),
- project (if that does not already exists), and
- IDA resources for that project.
The storage space is thus project specific. The applicant accepts responsibility for the project that will be created. He or she will be able, e.g., to manage the persons included to the project. Because of this, it is expected that the applicant is a senior researcher or equivalent. Other CSC resources (e.g., computing resources) can be applied for the project too. Note that the project can already exists, if other CSC resources are in use.
IDA storage can be applied for by using the IDA storage can be applied for by using the https:/sui.csc.fi/ service according to the instructions in https://www.fairdata.fi/en/ida/becoming-an-ida-user/.
