Two ITEE projects chosen by the Academy of Finland

Key project funding by the Finnish Academy is targeted especially to the  early-career researchers whose projects have been highly rated in previously organised peer reviews. The funding aims at  promoting extensive utilisation of the results of that research.

From the University of Oulu, four applicants were chosen to be funded,  two of which are researchers of the Faculty of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering.

The call, which was open-themed and open to all scientific disciplines, resulted to 101 funding decisions of the 598 applications received in spring 2016.

The two-year-funding period runs from 1 October 2016 to 30 September 2018.

The funded ITEE projects and responsible investigators are:

  • Teixeira Ferreira, Denzil: Context-Awareness for Elderly Care (CARE)
  • Zhao, Guoying: Sydämen sykevälin analysointi videokuvasta lääketieteen etäpalveluissa (CAVA)
