Nordic Mining School welcomes you to take the course: Environmental management in mining projects (3 ECTS)
Goals: This course gives a high level understanding of the environmental issues and practical environmental management in mining projects, from exploration to post-closure. The focus is slightly on tailings and waste rock deposition and water management, but objectives include understanding the roles of other key concerns as well. Perspective is primarily Nordic, but not forgetting the global context. The course includes 6 half-a-day modules and an assignment. In the end of the course, mini-seminar will be held.
Implementation: Lectures, assignment and seminar. The course is held intensively over 3 days in Oulu, Finland. Travel and accommodation expenses for visiting students will be covered.
